Dear Bradburn,

I expect to go into the country day after tomorrow-Thursday-cause why? Nothing to eat. I should be glad to see you, if it be convenient for you to come up here tomorrow. If not, write me occasionally to Athol.

By saying I should be glad to see you, I do not mean that I have anything to say, that will pay you for coming.

I am sorry to leave—I wished to have gone in with my argument—but as I cannot, the Abolitionists must flounder on in their ignorance until they are willing to give me breach in exchange for knowledge.

                                      Yours truly,

                                      L. Spooner
