Envelope reads: George Bradburn Esq Cove of A.W. Fisher Lowell, Mass Boston Friday Evening Dear Bradburn, I have been gone today—came home and
learned to my astonishment, from the Chronicle of this morning, that the paper
is discontinued--the Emancipator, sold to Abraham Cummings. Mention is made of
there being a prospect [?] of the paper being continued under the old editor.
But I apprehend from the tenor of the announcement that the concern [?] is
likely to stop entirely –all but the Emancipator certainly. If it should, would
it not offer a good chance for you to start a paper here? Hildreth, I have
little doubt would join you, if you should wish him to do so— Yours in haste, L.S. |
